I would like to be able to search for a General Ledger account by name instead of having to scroll down my entire trial balance for my specific account.
Currently you can search by fund or by account number, but if I don't know my account number I would like to be able to enter in the account name or a variation of the name and have options appear to be able to choose from.
In the interim, have you considered running the master chart report and saving it as a text file on your desktop? You could then use the search feature in Notepad to find your account.
Alternately, you could save it and open it in excel, sort the report- perhaps in sections ( balance sheet vs P&L) and then print the output and hang on your wall? Then you can scan down for your account number.
