We love the fact that gift information (name, address) can be displayed on the "Gift" page in DonorCentral. This allows fund advisors to write thank you notes and track gifts in one central place. However, we do NOT inform fund advisors on the AMOUNT of a contribution. There is no way to 'hide' the gift amount in DC (so that it is not associated with the gift contact information). This means we are unable to display the gift contact information to our fund advisors. DC allows you to hide contact information but not the actual gift amount associated. We would love to see a 'hide gift amount' option that also allows us to display the date of the gift and contact information for our fund advisors.
We are eagerly waiting for the day DonorCentral will hide the gift amount but still display the gift contact information for our fund advisors. It is not our practice to ever disclose third-party gift amounts to funds because it is incredibly gauche and really shouldn't dictate a fundholder's level of gratitude for an individual giving a gift to their fund. By allowing us to only display the gift contact information and not the amount, we believe our process would be streamlined and more efficient. Currently, because of the way DC operates, we have to hide all gift information and a staff member must periodically pull the information and send to fund advisors, thus ensuring appropriate thanks to the giver. This really is not as efficient as it needs to be and has potential for gifts to be overlooked. Thank you for your attention to this Blackbaud!
